Motty, even I'm for ethanol from non-food sources; plus, we get more of it for what's put into it at a lower price and subsidies aren't necessary. I agree, I'd rather see jobs here at home, and the money to stay here at home to create those necessary jobs, but not with corn and not with ethanol alone. Hydrogen is viable, natural gas is viable, so are other alternatives and we should be moving forward with this all. Hell, this shouldn't even be a discussion still today since we had 30 years to move forward with the alternatives. Plus, we should be getting vehicles straight from the factory that get better fuel economy already, after all this time, and we're not. I can modify vehicles to get 10, 20, 30% and more mileage out of them. I and others can get vehicles out there that get 70, 120 and more mpg, but not the automakers obviously. It's not that difficult.
